About us

Hello,

I am Birthe Verhaert and I live in Nijlen, Belgium, and my dogs Sai and Sum. I'm born on 22 March 1990, and my biggest passion since then already was dogs and agility. I've grown up with this from the very beginning. I'm doing agility myself since I was 8 years old (long time ago now). It has always been a big part of my life.

I started agility with my Sky Terrier Ravot. Not the ideal breed to do agility with, but we managed. Ravot was trained by my dad first, and later on it was my turn to keep him trained. Together with him, I learned a lot of things in agility. We had some great time and even got to the highest level, FCI Grade 3 small. Unfortunately, not long after we got there, I had to say goodbye to my small friend. He died the 23rd of August, after an operation.

After that, agility was on a lower level for me, because loosing my dog came very unexpected. To keep buisy in agility, I could run with a malinois Buddy, from a good friend, Annick. This didn't work out a 100%, so we didn't do much agility anymore at that time. We had to look for some other way to come back in agility again.

A good friend of my father, Koen, decided at the end of 2003 to buy a dog. This man has it's own buisiness, so not to much time to train a dog. The ideal proposition came: I was gonna train his dog!

At that time, I really wanted a border collie puppy of Maeglin Umoss. Koen agreed with my choice, so everyone happy. The puppy was chosen, and named Cosmo. Due to a mistake on the pedigree, it now is Cosmos, but still calling him Cosmo. I couldn't wait to start agility with him!

Now, Cosmo is becoming older, and he has had a wonderful carreer! we even got into FCI Grade 3, I never expected that! Now we have made the step to veterans class, after such a wonderfull carreer of which I'm very proud!

After a long time waiting for it, I aso got my own new dog. His name is Sai, and he's a bi black shetland sheepdog.

Sai did some shows, but this is not really 'active' enough for him.

Our biggest concern is training agility.

Sai is very nice agility dog. He's explosive and sometimes crazy, but has a lot of will to please, and never gets tired! He just loves to work with me! We run in the highest level (grade 3)! We get a better team every week.

In 2016, Sum joined me. She was born end of 2015. She is from kennel Gjerulff, and a dream coming true having a puppy after Primadonna and Peanut line :). Unfortunately, Sum was diagnosed with PDA, so after a stressful beginning, she is now totally fine after operation and ready to rule life properly! Happy baby girl! She will be trained in agility of course :)
